Local families and Mayor Kelly Yaede gathered on Monday, Nov. 28 at All Heart Athletic Academy to officially mark the fitness facility’s grand opening. During the celebratory event, more than 75 children participated in an American Ninja Warrior Competition with obstacles similar to the NBC television series, American Ninja Warrior.

All Heart’s American Ninja Warrior obstacle course offers students a series of physical exercises to challenge themselves. The classes are offered Monday through Thursday and Saturday mornings for children ages 5 and up.

“Our philosophy is exercise in disguise,” Dan Flounders, owner of All Heart Athletic Academy, said. “The obstacle course is a great way for children to enhance their agility, balance, strength, speed and endurance—all while having fun.”

While the course is currently only offered for children, Flounders said he plans to open one up for adults in the future.

During the grand opening, children had an opportunity to showcase their skills by competing in the demanding course. Leaders of the competition also received a $50 cash prize. The four winners were Sean Annese, Victoria Bryk, Christopher Castano and Rocky Moretti.

All Heart Academy also offers the American Ninja Warrior competition program as fundraisers for local schools and private birthday parties.

While the American Ninja Warrior course is the latest addition, All Heart Academy also offers classes in mixed martial arts, self-defense, speed/agility training and wrestling.

“Our classes focus on and provide integrated skills for men, women and children of all ages and ability levels,” said Flounders. “Our academy is perfect for anyone looking for a fun, fresh and interesting workout, or for anyone who isn’t seeing results from their current workout routine.”
